Hillary: Abortion a “Human Right,” Slams Trump

Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton criticized the Trump administration Thursday for not promoting the killing of unborn babies as a “human right.”

Clinton, a pro-abortion Democrat and a favorite among abortion industry leaders, responded to reports that the Trump administration is cutting references to “reproductive rights” from a key global human rights report. The U.S. Department of State publishes the report annually.

“Women’s rights are human rights,” Clinton wrote Thursday on Twitter, Politico reports. “That was a radical idea back in 1995. It shouldn’t still be two decades later.”

U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, a pro-abortion Democrat from New Jersey, and Ty Cobb, director of the Human Rights Campaign’s global program, joined Clinton in complaining.

“I am profoundly alarmed to read reports of Secretary Tillerson’s alleged efforts to water down or delete critical sections of the State Department’s annual ‘Country Reports on Human Rights’ related to women’s rights …” Menendez said in a statement.

Cobb told Politico that the move is “unconscionable.”

But the Trump administration is not restricting women’s rights. By refusing to promote abortion, it actually is expanding them.

For a startling number of women across the world, an abortion is not their choice; rather, it is coerced or forced upon them by an abusive partner, parent or even the government.

The changes to the State Department report apparently will reflect this often ignored problem. Officials who work for the department said the title of one section will be changed from “Reproductive Rights” to “Coercion in Population Control.”

Another right that abortion activists ignore is the right of unborn women to live. Sex-selection abortions have become a huge global problem. In China and India, the ratio of men to women is heavily skewed male, and human rights groups estimate tens of millions of women are “missing” from the world today due to sex-selection abortions. Government leaders in India have initiated several programs to help end gender discrimination in the womb, but it still occurs.
